A Clockwork Purr
Electronica artist. Master of analog synthesizers. Castrated. Has a good friend in Slow Loris.
A Clockwork Purr is a solitary genius who crafts intricate, physics-defying soundscapes on vintage analog gear. Once a fierce alley performer, his life changed after discovering an old modular synthesizer hidden in a dusty warehouse. The analog circuits spoke to him in rhythms and vibrations, and he poured all his creative energy into decoding their language. His castration—an odd rumor among fans—symbolizes rebirth: he shed his former wild self to become a disciplined maestro of electronic nuance.
In the studio, he’s meticulous and patient—turning knobs delicately, chasing elusive harmonics. He and Slow Loris, a fellow nocturnal creature and ambient drummer, hold silent sessions deep into the night. Their friendship is built on mutual respect and shared stillness: Purr conjures drones and bleeps while Loris taps low-tempo pulses, the two weaving organic warmth into electronic textures.
Despite his shy demeanor, Purr has an unspoken ambition: to score the finale of a cinematic shootout scene under neon rain, blending human emotion with cold machinery. Through Slow Loris’s support, he confronts stage anxiety, and gradually accepts that his sounds can move other beings—feline or not.
