Slober

Slober

Pedal steel guitar virtuoso.
He is good friends with Marmot.

Slober is a three‑toed sloth who discovered his calling in the languid swoop of steel guitar slides. His journey began on a sun‑lit branch in the rainforest, where hummingbirds paused to listen as he gently strummed a borrowed pedal steel. Though his movements are famously slow, his mind races ahead—anticipating bends, harmonics, and emotional swells in each chord.

He met Ricky the marmot during a twilight jam in the forest canopy. Ricky's banjo lilt and Slober’s dreamy steel melded into an unexpected synergy—a rustic “Forest Folk-Slide” sound. Over time, Slober’s pedal steel mastery deepened: influenced by pioneers like Buddy Emmons and Noel Boggs—legends who transformed the pedal steel into a voice of emotion, solo, and Western swing expression

On stage, Slober’s presence is hypnotic. He eases into notes, coaxing shimmering overtones that wash through the audience like warm sunlight. Beyond performances, he's Ricky’s dear friend and musical compass: they compose intricate interludes where sloth-paced steel meets marmot energy—proof that time is music, not its enemy.
