Ricky
Marmot is a banjo player. He can play many other instruments and sings well. He often has sessions with sloths.
Meet Ricky—a free-spirited marmot who discovered a five-string banjo buried under wildflowers in his alpine home. His curiosity led him to pluck its strings at dusk, and that simple melody unlocked a lifelong passion for music. Ricky’s multi-instrumental talent—he’s just as comfortable on fiddle, harmonica, or upright bass—stems from his belief that every instrument has a story waiting to be told.
Ricky’s mellow but powerful singing voice became a fixture at forest clearing jam sessions, where he regularly crosses paths with a slow-moving crew of sloths. These unlikely collaborators—sloth pedal steel guitarist and groove-seekers—brought out a laid-back, earthy rhythm in Ricky’s playing. What started as casual gatherings transformed into seasonal “Canopy Sessions,” with birds and beetles gathering to listen under moonlight.
Despite his wanderlust and multi-instrumental diversity, Ricky always returns to the banjo—it’s his anchor. His dream is to blend the upbeat lilt of bluegrass with the tranquility of sloth vibes, creating “Forest Folk” music that resonates with creatures of all paces—from sprinting squirrels to meditative sloths.
